Documented as having been constructed before 1358, it has two distinctive features: 1. the hall storey located above the vestibule, which is a very rare design element used for official entertaining, and, 2, the magnificent pilaster gable. With its polygonal columns, the alternation between glazed and unglazed brick, and the intricate ornamental forms, the gable is clearly related to the ornamental façade of the City Hall. It is evidence of the power consciousness of one of the leading council families of the time. Today the Wulflam House accommodates a restaurant with a fine view of the City Hall and St. Nicolas’ Church. |
