At the end of the Bockenheimer Anlage, the Eschenheim Tower (Eschenheimer
Turm) shines out at us on the right-hand side. It was one of 42
watchtowers of the former city fortifications. One of many? No, the
finest of its kind and quite old: built in 1428. Incidentally, also
probably the highest city tower in Germany. |
